Sherman

The M4 Sherman is the iconic American tank of World War II. Serving from the deserts of North Africa to the forests of Germany, they were present in every theater of the war. Their reliable and cheap construction gave them a numerical advantage in combat and they were distributed to other nations armies by the thousand.

Panther Considered one of the best tanks of World War II for its excellent firepower and protection the Panther tank was Germany’s answer to the Soviet T-34. Built on the same chassis, the Jagdpanzer traded the Panther’s turret for extra armour and a much bigger gun.

Soviet T-34 From it’s first encounters in 1941 the T-34 would become one of the most influential tank designs of the Second World War. The T-34 was continously refined over the years to increase effectiveness and decrease costs, allowing vast numbers to be fielded at once. Eventually, the T-34/85 variant was built to combat the appearance of heavy German tanks.

Soviet SU-100 The SU-85 and SU-100 were built on the excellent T-34 chassis, replacing the turret with a hull mounted gun. These assault guns were nicknamed ‘Cat-killers’ for their ability to knock out heavy German tanks like the Panther and Tiger.

Soviet IS-2 Named after the Soviet leader Joseph Stalin, the IS series of heavy tanks was designed to help the red army break through enemy positions. Its gun fired heavy high-explosive shells that could destroy enemy tanks, entrenchments, and bunkers alike.

Soviet ISU-152 The heavy ISU self-propelled guns weighed almost 50 metric tons and combined three battle roles: assault gun, tank destroyer, and artillery. The ISU- 152 could deliver devastating explosive shells at range while the ISU-122 boasted better armour piercing capabilities.

Jackson The M10 GMC (Gun Motor Carriage) blends the manoeuvrability of a tank with the firepower of a heavy 3” (76mm) gun. The open top gave the crews the advantage of much greater awareness of what was happening around them. As the war progressed the turret and gun were upgraded resulting in the M36 ‘Jackson’.
